 Afghan chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, olive oil, garlic, paprika, coriander, cumin, turmeric, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  2. Add the chicken breasts to the bowl, and turn them in the marinade until they are completely coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove the chicken breasts from the marinade, and place them on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
  5. Bake the chicken breasts in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
  6. Garnish the chicken with chopped cilantro, and serve with rice, salad, or your favorite side dishes.
