Shimla mirch ki recipe
a simple recipe for Shimla mirch (bell pepper) that you can try at home:
Ingredients:
- 2-3 bell peppers (Shimla mirch), sliced
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
- 1 tsp coriander powder (dhaniya)
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder (or to taste)
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add finely chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add sliced bell peppers and mix well.
Cover and cook on low heat for 8-10 minutes or until the bell peppers are tender but not overcooked.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
